I first built this many years ago as an Android app for my personal use, after getting diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.
My primary pain point was doing manual calculations of required insulin doses, so I largely automated that process with this app. It allows you to build a food library by scanning barcodes, and figuring out your insulin dose becomes as simple as scanning that code again and providing the portion's weight. The app handles the rest.
It also connects to CGM via Nightscout, so always has up-to-date glucose readings to factor into insulin calculations.

In 2026, I migrated the entire app to run as a progressive web app instead so it's more accessible on different platforms.
